Information About Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO)
Owing to history, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company incorporated on 23rd April 1998. Precisely, the department of NEPRA granted the certificate to HESCO to start the business on 1st July 1998. The dire need for handling all the property and liability issues of Hyderabad resulted in the formation of HESCO. Amongst the eight Area Electricity Boards, Hyderabad was one of them. The Government of Pakistan formulated the decision of refurbishing the power sector. It comes under the WAPDA Act underwent a major overhaul. Following, the outcome came with the formation of 8 Distribution Companies, and 12 corporate entities. The country also saw the genesis of 3 Generation Companies. Currently, the Companies Ordinance 1984 incorporates all these companies. As of now, the company’s motto is to provide fluent electricity flow/supply. Nonetheless, they are also working on eradicating the power shortage in many rural areas of Sindh.
