The Position
The division is looking for a Software Developer to work out of the Contour Software Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore R&D team.
Responsibilities
- Develop PHP applications from detailed designs and specifications
- Analyze existing legacy PHP code to identify areas of optimization and improvement
- Perform MySQL data management and schema management scripts and interfaces
- Participate in design reviews
- Troubleshoot and correct reported issues
- Report status on assignments
- Document technical implementations
Required Qualifications:
- University/College education or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline
- 5+ years of backend or full stack web development experience with 2+ of that being with PHP
- Familiarity with SQL and/or SQL-backed Object Relational Mapping systems
- Knowledgeable of git or other version control system
- Comfortable with Linux command line tools like ssh, rsync, scp, grep, vim and basic Linux administration tasks
- Experience with debugging and performance optimization (of other people’s code, ideally)
- Strong communicator and able to self-organize
Nice to Have:
- Experience administering HAProxy
- Experience administering Apache web server
- Experience administering cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Experience with testing automation and CI/CD processes
- Experience with EDI and ETL processes
- Knowledge of modern JS/Typescript frameworks like React/Angular/Vue
- Mobile Development Experience
