In the Energy White Paper ‘Powering our Net Zero Future’ the government has set out an ambitious programme to build a fairer greener energy system.

Flui Technologies is going through its own ambitious programme, to provide the software that will enable this change in the energy industry. We will be moving from multiple single-tenant monolithic applications, and decomposing/recombining into a

cloud-native, serverless, multi-tenant architecture, with AWS the chosen platform

. Java is our language of choice.

Position

Reporting to the Product Owner, the

Business Analyst

will work within our Research, Development and Product function. We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual for this challenging position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to analyse energy industry processes and produce requirements and functional designs, as well as test documentation. The role will involve creating a tangible impact on the business by developing the necessary documentation to ensure that our software can proceed through development and having the necessary testing requirements at the other end.

This role involves working on a large programme of work as well as other smaller projects, making sure that our requirements and functional designs meet industry compliance and customer expectation – using a range of business analyst techniques. The nature of our work requires excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

The hired candidate will be located and work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad office, working as part of the resource center as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the requirement analysis and functional design of your area of responsibility.
• Use modelling practices to analyse and create accurate business/functional documentation.
• Creating documentation that includes wireframes, business rules, data migration rules and other detailed deliverables required.
• Act as a SME or source of information for your area of responsibility.
• Maintain the documentation of your area of responsibility, ensuring that industry and business process is captured and updated throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write test scripts that provide testing coverage of new and modified functionality along with regression testing within the software development lifecycle.
• Working with stakeholders globally.

Job Qualification

Essential:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with Business Analyst tools (MS Office, Visio, Modelling Software.)
• Strong understanding of different requirement gathering techniques and approaches
• Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrable experience in working with a variety of stakeholders within software development projects using Agile methodologies.
• Software testing experience

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or IT-related discipline
• ISEB Business Analysis or BCS-related qualification
• ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate in Testing
• Testing of front and backend applications
• Experience working in the utility sector primarily electricity.
