About The Program

Our Open Mind Trainee Program is especially designed to include people with disability (PWDs) at the workplace in order to enhance their employability through skill development, mentoring and comprehensive on-the-job training.

Employment Type: This is a full-time position.

Grade: This is a contractual position, starting with 4-month apprenticeship and then a prospective 8-month traineeship extension (based on performance) at Telenor Pakistan.

Location: This role is based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Nature of Job: It’s a desk job following Hybrid Model (both on-site & remote).

The Role

The role will be to support tax team in overall automation and modernization of tax functions. A significant part will be allocated to improvement in documentation procedures for tax compliance, assessments and audits as well as sales tax and income tax compliances.

Your Tasks Will Include

  • Identify gaps in documentation and other tax processes, eliminate redundant practices and implement process improvements to reduce lead times during assessments & audits
  • Support, monitor and follow up automation and modernization related tasks. Be a focal point for all modernization related initiatives
  • Become familiar with tax compliance procedures and develop controls and analytics to identify discrepancies in amounts
  • Support in internal controls revamp and compliance with transfer pricing regulations

What We’re Looking For

Education: Part Qualified CA / ACCA (Qualified) / BBA

Functional Skills/Knowledge Areas

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of federal and provincial tax laws.
  • Good knowledge of business processes.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and accounting tools.
  • System knowledge and business processes know how
  • Good grip on project methodologies
  • Excellent command on office tools i.e. Microsoft Office, Power point, Excel
