The developer will contribute to the application’s implementation, as well as its launch and growth. Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the reimagined architecture of the application while working closely with the development team
- Ensure a complete rework of the user workflows and the application’s UX
- Consistently incorporate new and innovative features to maintain the company’s leadership position and reputation for technical rigor
- Write fresh code and immediately see the impact of your work
- Assess tradeoffs between various front-end frameworks as they apply to the specific needs of the application
- Take ownership of the codebase and write code for the front-end
- Work with UX designers to modernize the application’s styling in a modular and reusable manner
- Occasionally design and implement stopgap views until designs are available from UX
- Build upon the base of interactive charts and tables to serve user-driven analytics
- Integrate and maintain an end-to-end test framework
- Work with client-facing consulting staff to understand and anticipate client needs
- Design, build, and maintain the features and functionality to meet and exceed those needs in a manner that delights users
- Investigate, resolve bugs, and improve performance
- Stay informed on innovations and best practices and bring these to the team
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
- Experience using Tailwind and CSS
- Aesthetic sense and fluency with UX design
- Comfortable building front-end views
- Solid experience with JavaScript and jQuery
- Experience developing with MVC web frameworks
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus)
- Experience building end-to-end tests for modern front-ends
- Experience with GitHub and Heroku
- Passionate about tackling climate change and environmental justice through the value of software
