Information About KPK Police
The KPK police department was first established in 1861, in the then British province of NWFP in the police act of 1861. The department came under the provincial government of Pakistan after independence, from 1947 to 2000 not much was changed in training except a uniform change and some minor changes. After the incident of September 11, 2001, Pakistan became part of the war on terror, and the KPK province was at the forefront of the war. The government decided to reform the police. New weapons were introduced and the training was improved. The job criteria were emended and professional and more advanced methods were implemented, the KPK police has the only female commando unit in the country.
